London & Brighton Trip

At the end of the school year, the 5BN set off for an exciting trip to London and Brighton. After flying to London, we arrived at our hostel late at night – tired but full of anticipation for the days ahead.

The next morning, we started our sightseeing adventure on one of the famous hop-on, hop-off buses. We passed Marble Arch, Hyde Park, and Victoria Station, before walking to Buckingham Palace – just in time to accidentally stumble upon the Changing of the Guards! From there, we continued through St. James’s Park towards Westminster, where we admired Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, and Westminster Bridge.

Although it was an incredible 33°C, we enjoyed every moment – especially the river cruise on the Thames, which took us all the way to Tower Bridge. Along the way, we saw many of London’s most iconic landmarks: the Tower of London, the London Eye, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and The Shard.

Later, our bus took us to Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, and Chinatown for a bit of shopping and exploring. On our way back to the hostel, we even caught glimpses of Green Park, Harrods, and Kensington Palace before ending the day with a well-deserved dinner.

On our second day, we took a trip to the seaside town of Brighton. During a guided tour, we learned about the city’s creative atmosphere, its many street artists, and the fascinating story of King George I, who once made Brighton famous. Afterwards, everyone enjoyed some free time – some explored the charming shops and lanes, while others cooled off with a refreshing swim in the Atlantic Ocean.

Finally, on our third day, the weather cooled down, making it perfect for visiting the Natural History Museum. We then explored two of London’s most vibrant markets – Borough Market and Camden Market – before ending our trip on a high note: watching the spectacular musical Hamilton in the evening.

It was an unforgettable journey full of culture, laughter, and sunshine – and one that definitely made us fall in love with the UK!
